In October 2020 the Health Foundation launched the REAL Centre to deliver independent research and economic analysis on long-term issues relating to health and social care.
They wanted an animation to tie in with this launch moment, something which could create conversation amongst senior leaders and drive home the benefits of long-term evidence-based decision making.
We begun by establishing an animation style which incorporated their bold and colourful brand guidelines; the 2D animation needed to be dynamic, clean and minimal to showcase a confidence in the REAL Centre’s research amongst senior decision makers. We also wanted an approach that – true to the REAL Centre’s ethos - made data the central star. We used large fonts, moving text and statistics to emphasise their transparent and open approach to data.
The film was well-received in a series of launch events, successfully positioning the REAL Centre as a vital element missing from the wider healthcare policy landscape. The launch video also generated conversation online with key decision makers, with the video being retweeted by senior leaders in health policy and accounts dedicated to sharing health policy news.
