Brief

Brickwall was asked to help produce the NHS Leadership Academy's groundbreaking Frontline Nursing and Midwifery programme, which recruited and developed over 5,000 nurses and midwives interested in honing their leadership skills.

Approach

Alongside supporting Hay Group and the Academy to develop learning objectives and draft engaging learning content, Brickwall developed and executed a concept to convey educational material and entertain participants over what would be a six-month journey of individual learning and face-to-face workshops.

Given short time scales and a significant amount of material to cover, we created a blend of presenter-led material, animated guides, interviews, scenarios and activities to keep the attention of those completing the course. In the space of six months we refined scripts, produced, directed and edited over 60 pieces of content, which were subsequently translated into over a dozen languages.

Outcomes

The programme has been a great success, with feedback indicating that it has brought out much creativity and an enthusiastic response from the staff, as they were empowered in bringing about positive change. Since the completion of Frontline, Brickwall has again partnered with Hay Group and the Leadership Academy to create the video content for their Edward Jenner programme as well as creating workshop videos for the Mary Seacole.
